Palmer is seeking candidates for the position of HR Generalist-Talent Acquisition/Employee Relations to support approximately 550 nonunion employees in our Wyomissing and Exeter, PA locations.
This new position is on site and will support our 24 x 7 manufacturing environment.
The HR Generalist will be responsible for Recruitment, Onboarding and Employee Relations, along with other employment-related functions.

Essential Functions and Duties:
Recruitment Identify, create, and implement compliant and consistent candidate sourcing and recruitment strategies that will successfully fill open positions.
Develop relationships with external partners, such as schools, trade centers, and other professional organizations to source job candidates.
Coordinate external advertising of job openings, using various resources, such as organization's website, social media, or professional associations.
Attend job fairs, recruiting events, as required.
Coordinate internal recruiting efforts within the organization, including internal job posting.
Collaborate with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
Develop and maintain an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to effectively manage applicants.
Oversee preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
Coordinate and conduct phone screens and in-person interviews, create and extend job offer letters (and additional documents), and coordinate pre-employment screenings.
This also includes scheduling all steps with hiring managers and anyone involved in the interviewing process and providing on-going updates to those involved.
Collaborate with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
On-Boarding Maintain and deliver New Hire Orientation Program.
This includes the preparation of orientation packets, completion of required paperwork and on-boarding tasks with new hire from job offer to first day of employment.
Coordinate all on-boarding steps of seasonal/temporary workers, working closely with temporary staffing agencies.
This includes maintaining standard operating procedures related to on-boarding seasonal/temporary workers.
Employment Assist with tracking and reviewing HR metrics to support staffing and to make recommendations for retention.
This includes headcounts, open positions, and turnover data.
Send Human Resources organizational announcements (new hires, terminations, retirements, employee events, etc.
) via internal communication methods.
Assist with administering the Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action programs, including the completion of required reporting, such as the annual EEO-1 Report.
Conduct exit interviews, summarize findings, and discuss trends and concerns with leadership.
Track employee completion of orientation and on-going training/continuing education as it relates to leadership developmental skills, employment topics, and job specific skills.
May also assist with presenting employment related topics such as anti-harassment to leaders and employees.
Conduct stay interviews and exit interviews, maintaining documentation, and providing recommended action steps.
Employee Relations Provide guidance to management regarding employee performance concerns, corrective action, and conflict management issues.
Provide guidance to employees and respond to employee inquiries related to employment matters.
Conduct employment investigations as needed, maintaining documentation, and providing recommended action steps.
Participate in employee corrective action or termination meetings, as necessary.
Miscellaneous Review policies and procedures on a regular basis and recommends changes as needed.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
Create/maintain standard operating procedures for all duties of this position.
Provide coverage to other roles in the HR department as needed.
Assist with HR projects as required.
Job Qualifications Minimum 5 years human resources generalist experience, with an emphasis on recruitment and employee relations experience Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field required.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent time management, project management, and organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills.
Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
Ability to work with a team or independently.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Ability to handle, maintain and secure confidential data.
Ability to meet moderate travel requirements to attend recruiting events, engage in community relationships or to conduct interviews at other locations when needed.
Thorough understanding of human resources best practices, applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Knowledgeable regarding Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
HR professional certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP).
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Sedentary work in a normal office environment with moderate exposure to a production environment.
This position requires frequent talking, hearing, as well as frequent visual activity (near vision).
Walking and climbing is done daily but is required only occasionally.
