Palmer is seeking candidates for the position of HR Generalist-Total Rewards to support approximately 550 nonunion employees in our Wyomissing and Exeter, PA locations.
This new position is on site and will support our 24 x 7 manufacturing environment.
The HR Generalist will be responsible for Benefits and Compensation, along with other total rewards and HR functions.

Essential Functions and Duties:
Benefits Assist HR and Finance leaders with the administration of the employee benefit programs including health & welfare, life/AD&D, disability, and retirement plans.
Advise and inform employees of changes and developments related to benefits including eligibility, coverage, and provisions.
Work with Payroll to facilitate accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, or other appropriate service providers.
Complete and oversee retention of employee benefit records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies.
Assist with completion of benefit surveys, census, and other research required to collect accurate quotes from benefit providers.
Participate in review of information obtained from survey results.
Assist with monitoring benefit administrator and insurance carrier reports to ensure the organization complies with plan requirements, including applicable provisions of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
Communicate employee benefits during new hire orientation and annual open enrollment and assist with employee questions.
Support employees with benefit selections and assist with benefit paperwork.
Maintain knowledge of economic conditions, trends, labor market, and other factors related to ensuring the organization provides competitive and reasonable total rewards programs.
Work with carriers and third-party administrators to process enrollments, COBRA notifications, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing.
Maintain employee group benefits database and update employee payroll records.
Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required benefits related reporting and fees, to include processing of monthly benefit plan billings, the preparation of payment of administrative fees for all group plans, and employee benefit invoicing for those on leave of absence.
Provide support for plan audits.
Prepare, collect and organize data for actuarial assessments.
Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package.
Design and distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions.
Compensation Research and compare compensation plans offered by demographically comparable organizations; assesses competitors plans and makes recommendations for enhancements or improvements required to keep the organization's compensation plan competitive and effective.
Maintain organization compensation program to include pay grade structure, pay ranges, and internal equity data.
Act as resource to leaders regarding compensation decisions for new hire starting rates, performance adjustments, transfer adjustments and other compensation inquiries.
Assist with administering employee evaluation program, to include providing guidance to leaders on evaluation conversations, processes evaluations and maintains related records.
Review employee evaluation program on a routine basis for necessary updates and trains leaders in how to conduct appropriate evaluations.
Miscellaneous Maintain knowledge of economic conditions, trends, labor market, and other factors related to ensuring the organization provides competitive and reasonable total rewards programs.
Provide customer service support to internal and external customers regarding inquiries related to Total Rewards and other HR matters.
Coordinate employee programs and events such as service awards, retirement gifts, holiday events, and other employee gatherings.
Review policies and procedures on a regular basis and recommends changes as needed.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
Create/maintain standard operating procedures for all duties of this position.
Provide coverage to other roles in the HR department as needed.
Assist with HR projects as required.
Job Qualifications Minimum 5 years human resources experience with specific experience with administration of employee benefits and compensation programs.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent time management, project management, and organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills.
Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
Ability to work with a team or independently.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Ability to handle, maintain and secure confidential data.
Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs and benefits contract language.
Ability to understand, evaluate and make judgment on proposals (RFPs).
Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, COBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
HR professional certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP).
CEBS professional designation a plus.
Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Sedentary work in a normal office environment with moderate exposure to a production environment.
This position requires frequent talking, hearing, as well as frequent visual activity (near vision).
Walking and climbing is done daily but is required only occasionally.
