Department Manager, Advance Manufacturing Engineering, Reading, PA

Project focused engineering professional who provides technical direction and business guidance to the Advanced Manufacturing team.
Proactively develops and maintains a team of high-performing industrial, tooling, mechanical design, and control systems engineers to continually seek innovative methods for improving production equipment and process performance and profitability.
Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Advance Manufacturing Engineering Manager Reading, PA We have an immediate opening for an Engineering Manager at our 621 Brentwood Drive Facility.
Hours are 8 am 5 pm Monday through Friday Essential
Responsibilities:
Coordinate the project activities of Advance Manufacturing Engineers and Manufacturing Engineering Technicians.
Oversee the design of manual, semi-automated and automated machinery, and tooling.
Lead team to evaluate existing processes and configure systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the tool room process.
Provide information throughout the new business opportunity process to a multi-disciplinary tool room team regarding all aspects of machine design and tooling.
Implement the transition of new technology, new machines, and repaired and modified tooling to make sure production continues successfully without interruption of timely product delivery.
Review and analyze proposals for new equipment acquisitions or process improvements and determine if benefits justify expenditures.
Submits proposals considered feasible to management for consideration and allocation of funds.
Plan, direct, and coordinate activities concerned with design, maintenance, repair and modification of equipment, machinery, tools, fixtures, molds and dies.
Develop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring projects such as preparation of records of expenditures and research findings, progress reports, and staff conferences to inform management of the status of each project.
Track and report team metrics and measure team progress against business plans and recommend changes as needed.
Perform all work in accordance with the Brentwood Quality Management System.
Essential Skills:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology or equivalent (10
years of in a related role).

years in a related Manufacturing Industry, with an additional 3
years of supervisory experience or project management of multi-disciplinary teams Industrial, Plant, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering experience Preferred In depth knowledge of industrial machine and /or process design (mechanical/electrical/controls) Functional in the use of Solidworks/Creo and/or PLC/PC based control systems Prior experience in leading large capital projects (1 $MM+).
(PMP or equivalent preferred) Develop team members capabilities in support of individual career goals and team objectives.
Understand the value of best practices and apply best practices and other tools to drive business results.
Clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas, including expert executive communication and presentation skills.
