Charting a course for Penske's growth in a fast-changing market requires constantly assessing and selecting the best opportunities for the company to pursue.
This position is future-oriented, supporting research and inquiry into future growth opportunities.
The Director, Marketing Growth Strategies will play an instrumental role in developing approaches and methodologies to establish the strategic planning process and framework.
The role will work closely with the senior management team for the company and all product lines to identify and evaluate market opportunities, assess company fit to opportunities, and develop business case for pursuing opportunities.
This includes financial evaluation of the ROI and revenue potential, costs to pursue, and identification of organizational resources needed.
Using this information, the individual will compare new opportunities against existing ones and recommend ones for consideration.
The role will work collaboratively with leaders and key stakeholders from various cross-functional teams to evaluate each opportunity's attractiveness and fit with long term organizational goals.
This role +will provide frameworks and approaches to assess opportunities and support transition of approved ones from concept to execution.
This role will also coach and mentor rising marketing managers on applying a strategic lens to new market opportunities and improving marketing strategy.

Responsibilities:
Synthesize:
Guide executive leadership team in understanding current environment, external factors, competitive landscape.
Create frameworks to evaluate and assess market and company factors.
Oversee hypothesis development and validation through targeted research and analysis.
Synthesize information from multiple sources to generate insights and recommendations on business strategies and opportunities.
Identify Opportunities:
Lead cross-functional project teams to identify adjacent and transformational growth opportunities.
Identify opportunities to coordinate across the business more effectively to optimize value.
Create build/buy/partner analyses.
Evaluate critical strategic priorities and catalyze action against these priorities.
Build Consensus:
Lead internal strategy consulting projects and workstreams.
Partner with executive leadership to define business strategy and success criteria for the future.
Work with Senior Leaders to develop long-term growth strategy and plan strategy execution.
Supports various BU leads in developing specific business plans and strategies.
Align cross-organizational project participation and support.
Mentoring:
Coach strategic thinking, tools, frameworks, and approaches for managers to use when evaluating market opportunities.
Develop other marketing team members into future business leaders.
Develop and cultivate academic relationships, learning programs, and courses with schools and marketing associations to build organization's strategic marketing skills.
Manage existing relationships with marketing associations.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Finance, Strategy or Public Policy required.
Master's Degree required.
PHD in business or marketing preferred.
10
years in work and/or academic experience, experience in consulting, strategy, or mergers and acquisitions preferred.
5
years of quantitative or financial research experience in the transportation, heavy equipment, freight movement or logistics research preferred.
Advanced analytical skills to synthesize research into meaningful findings and concise views Advanced marketing and financial analysis skills, including calculating ROI, pro forma and financial statement analysis, financial modeling, valuations, and forecasting Experience in consulting, M&A, or corporate strategy Advanced project management skills to handle multiple priorities, projects with differing deadlines and delivering on time and on budget Able to establish credibility with business leaders and stakeholders through functional and expert knowledge Able to influence and lead cross-functional teams and external partners Able to tell stories from analysis and provide rigorous, fact-based recommendations in business terms to senior management audience Able to use market research to build compelling business cases and demonstrate market opportunity Able to spot market and economic changes as threats or opportunities.
