Responsibilities:
The Patient Access Representative (PAR) is responsible for patient registration, scheduling, customer service and clerical support.
Duties include accepting, recording and verifying insurance information, processing preauthorization requests, collecting copays and account balance payments, scanning documents into EMR and other administrative tasks related to the efficient operations of the department.
Incumbents must ensure contact with patients, families, the community, vendors, coworkers and physicians is carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner.
The PAR is also expected to complete other responsibilities in an accurate and timely manner as needed or assigned.
This position is for day shift at the Leesport Imaging location.
the shift is 7am- 3:
30pm Monday- Friday.
There is a weekend and holiday commitment.
One weekend per month (Sat or Sun, not both) and one holiday every 2-3 years.
Weekend/holiday coverage is for Main Radiology at the Reading Hospital.
There is an evening on call commitment.
Employees rotate on call for evening coverage if evening shift staff calls out (approximately 5 times per year).
Registration and insurance verification experience preferred.
