# Job Description
NOTE: Internal Posting 11/22/13-12/3/13 (Extended due to holiday)
1. Able to perform set-up on all machines in Packaging department with little or no direction.
2. Perform a variety of highly skilled operations to exacting standards.
3. Diagnose and troubleshoot/repair packaging equipment when mechanical problems occur.
4. Evaluate and solve product/process problems.
5. Perform all preventative maintenance according to PM schedule and requirements on above machines.
6. In conjunction with outside vendors and internal engineers, assist with an equipment upgrades/new installations.
7. Assist in training co-workers (e.g., other specialists) in the above functions.
8. Communicate effectively and proactively with engineering, supervisor, Lead and co-workers.
9. Maintain detailed machine logs and associated documentation for all equipment in packaging area.
10. Identify safety issues/potential.
11. Maintain clean and orderly work area.
12. Strict adherence to SOPs and GMPs.

# Minimum requirements
Education: High school or GED and 2 years of trade school.
Experience: 3 years of experience in machine set-up and troubleshooting Packaging Machinery, 2 of which must be internal experience in the Packaging Specialist function.
4 years of experience can substitute for Vo-Tech/Trade School. 4 years of additional external experience can substitute for the 2 years of Alcon experience required.
